Our programmes

Afghanaid works hand-in-hand with Afghanistan’s most marginalised communities to end poverty, improve access to essential services and create more sustainable, inclusive and climate resilient futures.
Afghanaid’s work addresses four main pillars: providing basic services for all; promoting economic opportunities, sustainable livelihoods and food security; supporting communities to adapt to the ravages of climate change and reduce their exposure to disasters; and providing assistance in humanitarian crises.
Gender and inclusion, good governance and community development, and conflict mitigation are central to the sustainability and impact of Afghanaid. We believe that working with both men and women is necessary for Afghanistan to achieve political and economic stability and we ensure that men and women are consulted at every stage of project intervention. We also work to improve local governance, ensuring the inclusion of under-represented communities.
